Civic Residency Program
The Community Civic Residency Program provides Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) with the opportunity to hold monthly meetings in a cultural environment at the Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center.
Program Benefits
- One meeting per month at no additional cost
- Access to a cultural environment for organizational gatherings
- Opportunities to engage with and support Center programs and events
- All other events outside of the approved monthly meeting will incur additional costs.
Requirements
- Civic Residents must provide support for the Center’s operations, programs, and/or events as outlined in the MOU and Support Agreement.
- Tax-exempt organizations must submit official documentation bearing the organization’s name.
- Organizations must have or obtain General Liability Insurance covering:
- Their organization
- Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs
- Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center (if required)
- Acceptance is based on the availability of space after all criteria are reviewed.
Fees
- Application Fee: $15 (non-refundable; does not affect acceptance)
- Annual Residency Fee:
- $140 one meeting per month
- $193 two meetings per month (upon request)
- Payment Due: Sept.14, 2025
How to Apply
To be considered, organizations must submit a completed application package that includes:
- Community Civic Resident application form
- Memo of Understanding (MOU)
- Support Agreement form
- $15 non-refundable application fee (due at submission)
- Supporting materials (may include):
- Resumes
- News articles or printed materials
- Letters of support and references
- Videos or portfolio samples
- Documentation of creativity, artistic quality, community involvement, and organizational ability
