Yes. The Center complies with ADA requirements. Assistive listening devices are available. To request materials in accessible format, sign language interpreters, CART, or other accommodations, please contact us at least five days in advance.

Tickets & Events
Tickets can be purchased online via the website’s Events Calendar page, or in-person at the Administration Office between the hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Payment methods accepted: Cash, money order, personal check. Call the Administration Office at 305-638-6771 for assistance when purchasing tickets online.
Yes. Tickets may be held for pick up at Will Call, depending on the event. Please bring a valid photo ID and your order confirmation when picking up tickets in-person.
All sales are final unless an event is cancelled or rescheduled. If an event is cancelled, ticket buyers will be notified and offered a refund or the option to exchange. A refund or exchange is at the discretion of the Managing Director and or Staff Event Coordinator.
We will notify ticket holders via email (or phone) using the contact info provided at purchase. Tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date or refunded at your option.
Facility Rentals
- Basic rental time: 3 hours for events; 2 hours for rehearsals. Additional hours available at extra cost.
- Setup & strike: Social events get 90 minutes before and 60 minutes after. Larger productions may request extra time.
- Advanced setup: If the venue is unused, setup the day/night before is possible for an additional fee.
- Capacity: Up to 150 people depending on setup. Adding tables or large items reduces capacity.
Your event is not confirmed until:
- The Rental Coordinator issues a contract,
- Payment is received, and
- Certificate of Insurance is submitted and approved.
- Ticket sales: Allowed; indicate cost and quantity on your application.
- Food vendors: Allowed with a Vendor Application Form submitted to the Facility Manager. Fees are separate; process may take up to 30 days.
- Merchandise vendors: Must submit a Vendor Application Form at least 30 days prior.
- Vendor fees: Start at $50. Contact the Facility Manager for details.
- All marketing materials (flyers, banners, programs, social media) must be approved by the Center Director or designee.
- Helium balloons are not allowed; violations incur a $75 fee.
- Lighting and sound equipment are available on-site.
- Renters must book a Technical Director to operate equipment.
- For concerts or plays, request the Technical Director at least 30 days in advance.
- A security officer is required for all events.
- Some events may require a Miami-Dade Police Officer.
- Basic rate: $100 for 4 hours.
- Renters are responsible for all setup and cleanup.
- Time allowed depends on event type (social vs. theatrical) and can be extended for an additional fee.

Yes, there is free parking located on site and near the Center.
Visitor Policies
To ensure safety and quality of your experience at the Center, the following are not permitted inside the building: Firearms, knives, or other dangerous weapons; outside food and drinks; smoking or vaping; large bags or equipment; and pets (with the exception of service animals).
Snacks and drinks are available at our concessions stand during events. Guests are allowed to bring water.
For groups of 10 or more, we offer group ticketing or discounts. Please contact the Center for group sales info.

Programs & Classes
We offer visual arts, dance, music, theater, and media arts programs for children, teens, and adults. Details can be found on our academies page.
Most classes take place after school hours or on weekends. Special intensives or workshops may occur during school breaks or holidays.

Our mission is to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the African Diaspora through high-quality arts education, community engagement, and performance.
We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds. While our programs often highlight African and African American culture, everyone is encouraged to attend and participate.
Events & Performances
Photography and recording are typically not allowed during performances unless otherwise stated. Please check event signage or ask staff.

Service animals are welcome inside the Center, as defined by Florida law (dogs and miniature horses trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability). All other pets are not permitted.
We currently focus on arts-related rentals and community events. Private functions may be considered depending on availability and mission alignment.
