Summer Arts Conservatory

The Summer Arts Conservatory (SAC) is a premier 9-week arts training program at the Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center (DAHCAC). Designed for children ages 5–16, SAC helps students develop their talents in both performing and visual arts while building the skills and confidence to thrive creatively. Parents also gain peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe, educational environment during the summer.

Enriching Experiences

Throughout the summer, students engage in:
  • Professional development workshops
  • Masterclasses
  • Field trips
  • Hands-on artistic exploration
These experiences help students discover and nurture their artistic abilities, strengthen academic skills, improve social interactions, focus on health and fitness, and build self-esteem.

Instrumental Start Fellowship

A highlight of SAC is the Instrumental Start Fellowship, which supports young musicians ages 7–10 with:
  • An instrument of their choice
  • A year-long music scholarship at DAHCAC
  • Mentorship from world-class musicians affiliated with the Cleveland Orchestra and New World Symphony

Village Talk

Students also participate in Village Talk, a series of inspiring sessions featuring acclaimed actors, dancers, singers, authors, and DAHCAC alumni. These talks provide:
  • Personal insights into the artistic journey
  • Motivation to pursue dreams
  • Guidance on setting bold goals for the future
