Art of a Spiritual

The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center (AHCAC) proudly presents the Art of a Spiritual, an annual music concert celebrating the beauty, depth, and legacy of African-American Spirituals. This signature event brings together Miami’s most accomplished Black opera singers for a powerful performance honoring the heritage and resilience of their ancestors.

The concert showcases the technical brilliance and emotional richness of traditional Spirituals—songs that continue to inspire and enlighten new generations. Under the direction of AHCAC’s Music Department, performers including celebrated vocalists and the Voices of Heritage ensemble deliver moving renditions that highlight the enduring power of this historic art form.

Hosted in the Wendell Narcisse Performing Arts Theater at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, the Art of a Spiritual stands as a tribute to cultural pride, artistic excellence, and the timeless spirit of Black music.
