Voices of Heritage Auditions
Saturday, October 21 & 28, 2017 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Auditions for their Voices of Heritage 2017 -2018 season is headed your way. The Voices of Heritage is the in-house vocal ensemble for the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. They perform music within the Jazz, R&B, Gospel, and Classical genres throughout Dade and Broward County.
Requirements
The Voices of Heritage season consists of 1 major concert along with several appearances throughout Dade and Broward County. Rehearsals take place every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Members are required to participate in all rehearsals, workshops and performances while they maintain a 2.5 GPA per semester.
Audition Requirements
Live Audition
- You must be 8 – 16 years old
- Prepare a selection of any style that you’re comfortable with and displays your vocal strengths.
- The selection should be 3 – 5 minutes in length.
- You may perform the selection with an instrumental track without lead vocals or acapella.
- Submit a current headshot and short bio.
Online Audition
- You must be 8 – 16 years old
- Submit a video link of yourself singing a selection of any style that you’re comfortable with and displays your vocal strengths.
- The selection should be 3 – 5 minutes in length.
- You may perform the selection with an instrumental track without lead vocals or acapella.
- Submit the video link along with a current headshot and short bio to irobert@miamidade.gov by 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017.
