Virtual Film Screening: CULTURE CONCRETE

The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center is hosting a free virtual film screening of Culture Concrete by Miami native Hattie Mae Williams. The online screening takes place on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. and will feature an interview with producer & choreographer Hattie Mae and Director of Picture and Original Score Christian Salazar hosted by Eulyce Eason, Dance Manager at The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. Free registration for this event can be completed through the Center’s website at www.ahcacmiami.org.

South Florida native Hattie Mae Williams as she shares a rare viewing of the site- specific dance film Culture Concrete, a documentation that tells a story of the abandoned Miami Marine Stadium. A massive 6,000 seat concrete structure that floats on top of the historic Virginia Key water’s and vibrates with history, tragedy, beauty, and a felt presence. Registration is accepted through Saturday, August 29, 2020.

Culture Concrete is part of the NEA dance grant and Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ partnership to showcase the work of the Dance Miami Choreographers program. For more information about the film, visit www.ahcacmiami.org.
